Carol Annette Owens, 53, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 26, 1962 in Forsyth County the daughter of Nina Bailey Owens and the late Samuel Dee Owens. Carol loved the Lord and exemplified her love of God through the life she lived. She worked at Integon for 10 years, First Assembly for 5 years, and Pet Sitters International for 6 years. Carol loved her job and coworkers. She also enjoyed taking her dog, Scampi, to ""puppy work"" with her. Animals held a special place in Carol's heart. She loved the beach and spending time with family at the pool. Carol loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her father, Carol was preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Owens. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nina B. Owens; three siblings: Leonard Owens (Michelle), Susan Owens Chatman (John), and Samuel Dee Owens, Jr.; sister-in-law, Ann Leonard (Lindy); special friends, Larry and Mary Hull; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held for the family. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 6 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
