Kernersville – Mrs. Carol Lee Wilson Vaden, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, May 29, 2026. She was born in Surry County on April 24, 1938, to the late James Raymond Wilson and Alverta Snow Wilson. Carol retired from RJR Tobacco Company. She loved to sing in the choir and with her brothers. She loved spending time with her family and having them all over for cookouts. Carol loved her grandchildren more than anything and would do anything for them. Carol and Gray were the love of each other’s lives and best friends. They were married for 53 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Wilson, and Wayne Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, James Gray Vaden, one son, Michael R. Moore (Julie), two daughters Gina M. Chaffin (Pete), Penny V. Covington (Doug), five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Fred Wilson, one sister, Jeanette Blanchard (Steve).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Mr. Kermit Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston Salem. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM – 10:45AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
