Carolyn Bodenhamer Edsel

Carolyn Bodenhamer Edsel, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026, at South Fork Assisted Living.

Mrs. Edsel was born May 22, 1941, in Forsyth County, to Norris Linville Bodenhamer and Estella Ruth Matthews Bodenhamer. She was a member of First United Church of Christ and retired from Josten’s Printing and Publishing after 36 years of service. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Gene Edsel Sr.; and her daughter, Caroline E. Deese.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Marvin Edsel Jr.; two grandchildren, Austin Ellis, and Amanda Marie Ellis Arrington; her brother, Dale Bodenhamer (Martha); her sister, Glenda Ruth Jones (Del); four great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Woodland Cemetery with Dr. Alen Hutchens officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Forsyth Humane Society.
