Carolyn Wilder Gaither

Mrs. Carolyn Wilder Gaither, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. Mrs. Gaither was born in Tallassee, Alabama on January 5, 1927. Carolyn was an active and devoted member of Ardmore Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was also a long-time volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Gaither on December 15, 2016; one daughter, Donna Gaither Harmon; and three brothers, E.B. Wilder, Ray Wilder and Jimmy Wilder. She is survived by her son, Ken Gaither and wife, Carolyn; one grandson, Grant Summerlin and wife, Jennifer; two brothers, Don Wilder and wife, Sandra and Douglas Wilder; and one sister, Ann Wilder Hawkins. There will be no formal services for Mrs. Gaither. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. As her health declined, her faith remained strong in her Lord and Savior and her family rejoices knowing that she is together again with Don after a short time apart. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mrs. Gaither.
