Carolyn Gentry

Mrs. Carolyn Burns Gentry, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away on Wednesday, January 09, 2019 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. She was born on October 3, 1935 in Guilford County to John and Ella Dixon Burns. Mrs. Gentry was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville and retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs with 31 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John S. Burns. She is survived by her husband, William G. Gentry; two sons and two granddaughters. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Carter officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living Horizon for all of the kindness shown to Carolyn during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist church, 306 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284.
