Mrs. Carolyn Jean Hunter Collins, 79, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 16,1946 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Charlie Hunter and Agnes Jean Yates Hunter. Carolyn was one of the first nurses in the Oncology Department at Baptist Hospital where she retired from. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, traveling, and doing crafts. Most importantly, She loved Jesus and she wanted everybody to know Him. Carolyn also loved Gospel Light Baptist Church where she was faithful until she got sick. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bill Collins; son, Charles Collins (Stephanie): daughter, Michelle Inman (Tony); three grandchildren, William Iman (Olivia), Matthew Inman, and Joshua Inman; one great-grandchild, Allie Inman; sister, Pam Bowles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, June 12, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC with Pastor Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
