Carolyn Lucille Hairston Russom

Carolyn Lucille Hairston Russom, 75, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was born in Stokes County on December 5, 1950, to the late Vaul Lash and Marion Lucille Campbell Hairston. Carolyn was devoted to the Lord for all of her life. She was a devout member of Branch of Hope Church in Kernersville. After graduating from South Stokes High School, Carolyn moved through life knowing what she wanted. She was determined and particular. Many times, it was Carolyn’s way, or the highway. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother, John L. Hairston

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Curtis Russom; a daughter, Sonja Mobley (Michael); a son, Keith Russom; siblings, Delbert Hairston, Dennis Hairston, Phyllis Hairston, and Tammy Hairston; four grandchildren, Quan Woods, Jarrett Mobley, Jerrell Mobley, and Jevon Mobley; as well as one great-grandchild, Biko Mobley.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Hairston officiating. A visitation will be held the night prior, Tuesday, June 9, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
