Carolyn Ann Church Shoemaker

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Church Shoemaker, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 29,2025, at her home. She was born June 30, 1945, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Woodrow Wilson Church and Rosie Virginia Cook Church. Carolyn worked at Kernersville Nursing Home for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and was apart of the Faithful Followers Class. Most importantly she loved the Lord, she was “unashamed” to say that. In her spare time, she was a master cook at making biscuits. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Shoemaker, Sr.; her son, Christopher Shoemaker; three sisters, Wilma Jean, Doris Price and Katherine Wall; two brothers, Woodrow Church and Jerry Church; grandson, Jeffery Hauser; brother-in law, Jim Fletcher; sister in-law, Phyllis Church, and one niece, Tina Martin.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Lisa Vaughn (Tommy); three sons, Oscar Shoemaker (Melissa), Billy Shoemaker, Jr. (Donna), and Ronnie Shoemaker (Tammy); two sisters, Bobbie Fletcher and Wendy Manring(Rick); two brothers, Floyd “Buster” Church (Marlene) and Ronnie Church (Kathy); three grandsons, Ronnie Ray Shoemaker, Jr. (Natalie), Nicolas Shoemaker, and Stephen Shoemaker; two granddaughters, Angel Faucette (Will) and Dana Carter (Brandon); three great-grandchildren, Lainey Faucette, Kaylee Carter, and Maggie Carter; two brothers-in-law, Hubert Price and Raymond Wall; and several special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Friday, August 1, 2025, at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will take place at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
