Carolyn Sue Spainhour

Carolyn Spainhour passed away on June 28, 2026 after courageously fighting numerous illness for many years. She was born in Winston-Salem on July 22, 1946 and resided at Clemmons Village in Clemmons. She is preceded in death by her parents Evelyn Binkley Spainhour and Alton Spainhour.

Carolyn was employed by Marshalls for many years. She was determined, adventurous, and particularly loved knitting, puzzles, watching wrestling, going to Dairy Queen (but only if it had the same menu as one from the 1960s), and traveling. Her favorite trips were those to the Grand Canyon and New York City.

Carolyn is survived by her brother, Ronald Spainhour, of New York City and many Binkley and Spainhour cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11:30AM in Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Interment will follow the service in God's Acre Moravian Graveyard. The family will greet friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10:30AM.
