Carrie Ayers Taylor

Carrie Alice Ayers Taylor, 85, of Clemmons was called home to be with our Lord on February 7, 2015. She was born September 29, 1929 in Delton, Virginia to Walter Jackson and Eva Willard Ayers. Carrie was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. She retired from RJR Tobacco after many years of service. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and a blessing to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, no nonsense attitude, and love for gardening, canning and cooking. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Maurer; brothers, Cyrus, Robert, and Johnny Ayers; and a son, Roger Dale Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Bernie Homer Taylor; sons, Danny (Tamra), Rick (Casey), and Randy (Kelly) Taylor; and daughter, Karen James (Ray); 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday February 11, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Pastor Travis Howard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday February 10, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Clemmons Village II and the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice of Statesville for the love, friendship, and care they provided for Carrie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 225 Davie Avenue, Statesville, NC 28677. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
