Mary "Catherine" Williams Floyd

Mary Catherine Williams Floyd, age 89, also known as “Grandmama” and “Meme”, passed away unexpectedly at Forsyth Medical Hospital in Winston-Salem surrounded by her family.

Catherine lived a life of compassion, strength, and love. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others, including her time at the infirmary at the Methodist Children’s Home in Winston-Salem.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hollingsworth "Holly" Williams and Blanche Craft Williams; and daughter, Marsha Floyd. She is survived by her brother, Bill Williams; her daughters, Christine Shehan, Charlene Craver (Mike), and Michelle Wood (Woody); her grandchildren Michelle, Ashley, Hollie, Mary Anne, Michael John, Kayla, and many great-grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Family and friends will gather to share memories of her life Sunday, May 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Old Nick Williams Farm & Distillery at 2675 Williams Road, Lewisville NC 27023.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to be made to The Historic Nissen House at PO Box 463 Lewisville, NC 27023 where Catherine lived for many years and raised her children.
