Catherine Elizabeth Hunnicutt

Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth ""Beth"" Parker Hunnicutt of Clemmons passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 21, 2015 at her residence. Beth was born May 14, 1945 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Pickett and Dorothy ""Dot"" Parker. She graduated from Morehead High School and received her Nursing Degree from Petersburg General Hospital School of Nursing in Virginia. Beth enjoyed her nursing career. She worked at Wake Med Hospital and later specialized in geriatric and rehabilitation care. She loved crafting, caring for her plants, bird watching, driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, and spending time with her grandchildren. Beth was preceded in death by her brother William ""Bill"" Parker. Surviving are her loving husband, William Michael ""Mike"" Hunnicutt; two daughters, Andrea Grater (husband Bill) of Apex and Sarah Vernon (husband August) of Clemmons; grandsons, Drew and Parker Vernon; and a step grandson, Drew Grater. She will be especially missed by her best friend Jackie Rio of Black Mountain. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. If a donation is preferred in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
