Mr. Cecil Wayne Bost, 70, of King, NC, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care Unit. Cecil was preceded in passing by his parents, grandparents, stepson Terry Len Hill and infant granddaughter Allie Nicole Jessup He was born September 9, 1955, in Statesville, NC to Ben Ray Bost and Peggy Earnhardt Bost, the youngest of four siblings.
Cecil attended Parkland High where he both wrestled and played baseball. He was the athlete in the family. He learned his amazing pitching skills early on as a star in the Southwest Little League. Following graduation from Parkland High, he attended NC State in Raleigh, NC. Cecil married the love of his life Linda who was also his consummate caregiver and travel companion, they shared 39 loving and amazing years together and would have had their 39th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2025.
In his years as a young adult, Cecil loved scuba diving and became a phenomenal fisherman and Master Beekeeper. Cecil loved to fish at their lake property and on their many beach trips. There was always a twinkle in Cecil’s eye and a smile on his face when he talked about his love for fishing. Cecil also was quite the gardener planting many flowers, bushes and trees at their home. He could make things grow and those flowers bloom every year.
Left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Linda, his step-daughters Regina Hill Payne and Kerri Hill Jessup, along with Cecil's older sister, LeVonna Bost Cockerham (Larry) of Cleveland Tennessee, two older brothers, John R. Bost (LaDonna) of Clemmons and Toby D. Bost (Becky) of Kernersville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.
The family lovingly invites his extended family and friends to an informal celebration of his wonderful life that will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Come spend time with us as we share memories and celebrate the incredible life Cecil lived. See old friends and make some new ones. Cecil would love that we all gathered for him. Cecil loved and was loved by all who knew him. We will miss Cecil so very much!
Cecil’s family deeply appreciates the loving care and support received from Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care in Yadkinville, as well as Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and ICU staffing during Cecil's last years. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC at a later date.
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.
