Cecil R. Johnson

Cecil R. Johnson, 76, of Advance, NC, (originally from Canton, Ohio) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at his home. Cecil graduated from Timken High School in 1967. He went on to marry the love of his life in 1972. Cecil loved finding good deals at garage sales. He was an avid deer hunter and loved playing poker any chance he got. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marion Johnson. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sandra Johnson; five children, Greg (Angela) Sheets, Derek (Tara) Sheets, Kelly (Greg) Nichols, Tanner (Michelle) Johnson, and Travis (Mandy) Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, with two more on the way; one brother; five sisters; and his best friend, his dog, Ellie Mae. Per Cecil’s wishes, he will be cremated and have a celebration of life on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Louisville Eagles in Louisville, Ohio.
