In Loving Memory of Cecil “Jack” Jackson Williams Jr.September 25, 1940 – July 12, 2025

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we share that Cecil “Jack” Jackson Williams Jr., 84, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2025. Born on September 25, 1940, Jack was the beloved son of Cecil Jackson Williams Sr. and Clara Martin Williams.

Jack lived a life defined by love, integrity, and quiet strength. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a kind man through and through. For 45 years, he shared a deep and unwavering bond with his wife, Eleanor Bell Williams. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and mutual respect. Jack’s greatest pride was his family — he adored them, and they adored him in return.

He was a true gentleman — thoughtful, steady, and gracious in every way. His kindness was genuine, his smile warm, and his presence comforting. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, you walked away feeling the goodness in him. Everyone who met Jack couldn’t help but be drawn to his gentle spirit.

Jack began his career in the shipyards of Norfolk, VA, where he learned the trade of pipefitting and contributed to vital work on nuclear submarines. He later served as a supervisor at ITT Grinnell in Kernersville, NC, and eventually became the plant manager at US Industrial Piping in Thomasville, NC. He approached his work with integrity and precision, always leading by example.

Outside of work, Jack found deep joy in nature and in time spent with those he loved most. He was an avid fisherman, and some of his most cherished memories were made during family trips to Cape Lookout, NC — surf fishing on the barrier island, surrounded by the people he loved and the peace he found in the ocean air.

Jack’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor, and his children: Mike Williams (Mary Jo), Steve Williams (Dawn), Stephanie Sears (Mike), and Andi Inman (Randy). He was a proud grandfather to Matthew Inman (Taylor), Zachary Gauldin (Tiffany), Abbie Ledwell (Luke), Cody Williams (Nicole), Stevi Toberman (Spencer), Dylan Laing (Shelbie), Ryan Williams, and Justin Williams. His joy grew with the arrival of each great-grandchild: River, Willow, Ridge, Tate, Olive, Bear, Jackson, Ezra, Lenora, Theodore, and Ellie. He is also survived by his loving siblings: Faye Martin, Larry Williams (Madie), and Carol Stewart.

A service to honor and celebrate Jack’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care of Winston-Salem, whose compassion meant so much to the family during Jack’s final days.

Jack Williams was a man who loved deeply, gave freely, and lived humbly. He was a steady hand, a soft voice, a joyful heart, and a constant source of love. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

"What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." - Helen Keller
