C.H. Boggs

Mr. C.H. Boggs, 72, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Boggs was born December 22, 1940 in Forsyth County to Carl Ray Boggs and Alma Bolin Boggs Wade. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he retired from Boggs Body Shop in which he owned and operated for 40 years. C.H. enjoyed racing, and he was a champion and mentor of many champions in all aspects of Kart to Cup Racing and was known as ""Pawpaw Boggs"" in the racing community, he was also an honorary coach of the Pop Warner Football League of the Lewisville Titans. Mr. Boggs was a long-life supporter of the Winston-Salem Youth Hockey and was a faithful member of the Wilshire Golf Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father; Pop Wade. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years Mary Robbins Boggs, two daughters; Tammy Boggs of Roanoke, VA and Sandra Boggs of Yadkinville, one son; Randy Boggs and wife , Lynn of Winston-Salem, two grandchildren; Brandon Hiatt and wife Alyson and Danielle Coone, two great-granddaughters; Haley and Abigail who fondly called him Papa Honey, two sisters; Pansy B. Webster of Winston-Salem and Alice B. Lackey of King, four brothers; Dave Boggs and wife , Louise Newport, Robert ""Chick"" Boggs and wife , Charlotte, of Walkertown, Walt Boggs, Sr and wife, Kathy of Pfafftown, Olin Boggs and wife, Beverly of Germanton, many special nieces and nephews and his special 4 legged companion ""Sissy"". Special thanks to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice staff. A Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by the Pastor Larry Walker. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday, January 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
