Mr. Charles Clayton ""C.C."" Banner, Sr., 75, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on July 11, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1941 to Pauline Lowry Banner and Charles Frank Banner, Jr. in Forsyth County. He attended high school at Mineral Springs and then entered the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Dunwoody University in St. Paul, MN where he earned the Gold Peel Award in baking. Later, he attended business classes at Wake Forest University. C.C. was a dedicated worker for Dewey's Bakery where he was employed from 1955 until retirement. He was a caring man who will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Billie Bumgardener, Cheri Wright, and Paul Banner. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Millie S. Banner; sons, Clayton Banner, and Greg Banner (Mary); grandchildren, Frankie, Ava, and Stefanie; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with Rev. Dave Bohrer officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends form 6-8 PM, Friday, July 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
