Charles Eugene Chamelin, Sr.

Charles Eugene Chamelin Sr. of Kernersville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born in Forsyth County, NC on May 10, 1936, to the late John Ray Chamelin and Esther Smith Chamelin.

Charles served in the Air Force. He worked as a body shop manager for over 40 years. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles, farming sweet corn, working in his yard and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his five brothers; Johnny Ray Chamelin, Bobby Chamelin, Coy Chamelin, Billy Chamelin and Jerald Chamelin along with his daughter, Martha.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joyce Chamelin; his children, Janice, Linda, Charlie Jr, and John; three granddaughters, Kriston (Tim); Kasidy (Dan); and Brandie (Brian); two great grandchildren, Westlyn and Dawson.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, July 11 at Saints Delight Church in Kernersville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Friday, July 10 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville.
