Charles “Chuck” D. Cordell, born May 16, 1976, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Thursday December 21, 2023. During his lively time on Earth, he had many friends and loved ones. He never met a stranger. He was someone who would go out of his way to help anyone in need and loved to bring a smile to everyone’s face. “Chuckles” was a nickname given for his life-loving, laughter-evoking, personality that would light up any room that he walked into. Charles found inner peace in the outdoors. He loved to golf with his friends, go hunting with family, and enjoy all of God’s creations in the woods on his side-by-side. On top of the mountain was truly his happy place. Charles was very proud of the time that he served in the United States Marine Corps. While in the service he made lifelong friendships and memories that he would retell fondly. While stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, Charles met the love of his life. Charles and surviving wife Susan were partners in life for 27 years. Together they had a life full of love and laughter. Surviving Charles are his two children Joshua and Ashley Cordell (fiancé Jacob Frazier). Charles was an example of a loving husband and father. In all the “little things” that he did, he laid the foundation of a family that is full of love for each other. Charles loved his kids in a way that could not be measured or compared. He loved coaching their sports teams and playing with them in the yard. He was always looking for ways to surprise them and was always there in the front row to cheer them on the hardest. He was truly their hero. In addition, Charles is survived by his parents, Dave and Joann Pollock, in-laws Ralph and Diane Pritchard, and many other surviving loved ones including siblings Tammy Gingerich (Brett Kramer), Donna Holbrook, Ted Cordell (Carol Cordell), brother-in-law Travis Pritchard (Beth Pritchard) and special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friend, Daniel Carson. A graveside service will be conducted 2pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC with Pastor Alan Ritter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
