Charles Bailey Flynt

COLFAX - Charles Bailey Flynt, 75, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born July 21, 1938 in Forsyth Co. to the late George Bailey and Vivian Idol Flynt. Charles was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. He retired from PTI Airport with over 26 years of service as a firefighter and was a volunteer firefighter for Colfax Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. Charles was very active with Sandy Ridge Community Center. He loved all animals especially dogs and horses, tractors and tractor shows. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Stafford Flynt of the home; two sons, Michael Flynt and Brad Flynt both of Colfax; granddaughter, Morgan Flynt of Danbury; sister, Barbara Hedgecock and husband, Jerry; sister-in-law, Jean Pierce and husband, Raymond; brother-in-law, Jay Stafford and wife, Wanda; and two nieces. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Peters and Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests, that memorials be made to the High Point Regional Hospital-Cancer Center, 302 Westwood Avenue, High Point, NC 27262 or The Humane Society of the Piedmont 4527 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27409.
