Winston-Salem - Mr. Charles Farrell Lemar, 85, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Forsyth County to Odell and Hettie Robinson Lemar. Charles was a medic in the Navy. He graduated with a BS in Business Administration from High Point College. Charles was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed working the flea markets where he spent his weekends for the last 25 years. He retired from Alma Desk Furniture Company in the early 90s. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Don Lemar; and a nephew, Jason Lemar. He is survived by his special friend and companion of 37 years, Janet Howe; two daughters, Kim Lemar Keelon and Jill Lemar; two granddaughters, Ashlea Thornton (Justin) and Brittany Bloodworth (TJ); two great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madison; sister, Janice Mills (Darnell); sister-in-law, Marcie Lemar; and three nephews, Gary and Tony Lemar and Chris Walker. A funeral service for Charles will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Kim Wolverton and Rev. Bill Young, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice of Winston-Salem for their care for charles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
