Charles Moore

Charles "Dan" Moore, 54, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 3, 1964 in Carrollton, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert S. Moore; a son, Charles Daniel, II; a granddaughter, Jasmine; a sister, Sherri McIntyre and a brother, Brian Clark McIntyre. Surviving are his mother, Wilma Lee Hatter McIntyre; his wife, Cathy, who he met in 1987 and was married in a very, very fast whirlwind romance. They have two daughters, Angelica and Cassandra Daniele. Also surviving are his granddaughter, Cherish; a brother, Steven McIntyre; his nieces, Shannon and Tiffany and his nephews, Steven and Michael. He has a very special niece, Jennifer Barnes and a wonderful nephew, John Barnes giving him as blessing by marriage. Dan went into the Army immediately after High School and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington in the A 1/11 Artillery where he spent ten years. He only had had a few employers because they were long term. Dan stayed with the same dart league for over ten years. He was a warm, loving, caring, giving, devoted father, daddy, husband, provider, lover friend and partner. The Lord truly blessed the world with Dan. He never met a "Stranger", within minutes of talking to anyone, they knew all about each other. He was giving, helpful, unselfish and outgoing. Very few people didn't take a liking to him right away. Dan was reliable and dependable and very "old school" and believed in keeping his word. He loved helping his friends and those who needed it. It was fun for him to do for others. Maybe it will be you that needs help one day. He tried his best to treat everyone as he would have liked to be treated. His life started out badly, but he never treated others badly because of it. He strived to make sure no one ever lived that life. God is Good. He leaves behind scores of friends and aquaintances. Hopefully you are one that he has touched and you will repay his kindness and help someone else in his memory. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Mary Miller officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service.
