Mr. Charles S. Nelson, Sr., 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 23, 1931 in Orangeburg, SC to Mildred Liefer Nelson and George Bernard Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Rain Nelson; his brother, John E. Nelson. Surviving are four children, Chuck (Gina), George (Grace Ann) of Wilmington, Buddy (Linda) of Chesapeake, VA and Lynn N. Snow (Fred) of Lynchburg, VA; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Clemmons Moravian Church with Rev. Q. Ray Burke officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jeff, Buffy and the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, as well as Tim and Vicki of Creekside Terrace.
