Charles Smith

Charles A. Smith, 42, of St. Louis, MO, son of Lalor Armstrong Smith and the late Charles Perkins Smith was born September 4, 1975 and died June 24, 2018. Charles was an active member of the Naval Reserves and employed by Express Scripts. He previously served as a Firefighter in Winston-Salem, NC. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting new places, all Chicago sports teams, NASCAR racing and was a big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. He was a great dad, a good player of baseball catch, and an excellent preparer of macaroni and cheese. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Stephanie Sturm-Smith and son Eli Smith of St. Louis, MO, step children Janee' Sturm of Bowling Green, KY and Kaleel Sturm of Charlotte, NC, mother Lalor Armstrong Smith of Wilson, NC, sister Tracee Smith of Kernersville, NC, and nephew Trey Smith of Kernersville, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eli Smith's college fund at NC State Employees Credit Union P.O. Box 457 Sylva, NC 28779, account Eli Smith 61563140. Interment will be private.
