Charles "Reid" Westmoreland

COLFAX – Charles Reid Westmoreland, 87, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center. A life-long resident of Guilford County, Reid was born on September 1, 1937 to Charlie and Lillie Westmoreland.

Reid retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where he had worked for 38 years. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, New York Yankees, NASCAR racing (anything Ford!) and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. His greatest enjoyment was in collecting and restoring cars.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Catherine B. Westmoreland of the home; his daughter, Teresa W. Powell (Bob) of Colfax; two grandchildren, Emily P. Pinion (Matt) of Colfax, and Kevin R. Powell of Kernersville; and three great granddaughters, Morgan Pinion, Caroline Pinion and Everleigh Powell; brother-in-law, Cyrus Bowman of Colfax; nephew, Sheridan Bowman of Greensboro; niece, Nancy Sipe (Joe) of Colfax.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 119 N. Bunker Hill Rd, Colfax, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary prior to the graveside service.
