Charlie Boaz ""CB"" Stoltz, Jr., 85 passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Everyone knew him as ""CB"". CB was born August 11, 1931 to Charlie Boaz Stoltz, Sr. and Minnie Bell Merritt Stoltz in Rural Hall, North Carolina, the youngest of 6 children. CB met his lovely bride, Lillian Crews Stoltz, in Walkertown, NC. They were married in 1950 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. CB and Lillian recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. CB began his work life as a carpenter. Soon thereafter, CB began a long career at Sara Lee Corporation, where he worked in knitting and product development, retiring after 45 years. He was well-respected for his creativity and problem solving with new knitting equipment. CB loved to spend time with his family and friends. Working on cars was a special passion, one which he passed on to his sons. He was actively involved in the Rural Hall Fire Department and Rescue Squad, where he served terms as Fire Chief and Chief of Rescue. CB is survived by his wife, Lillian; daughter, Linda (Terry) Montgomery; son, Mike (Cathy) Stoltz; son, Don (Traci) Stoltz; grandchildren, Michael Shane, Michele Shana, Kayla and Nathan Charlie Stoltz; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Shay Bennett, Conner Stoltz, Christian Thorte, Dillon Duncan and Kaiden and Ethan Moore. CB was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Thomas Stoltz; and sisters, Amy Jane Smith, Clementine Brown, Rebecca Waggoner and Ruth Hemric. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Pkwy., Rural Hall, NC 27045 with Rev. Arkon Stewart officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 Sunday night, September 18, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 305 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd., Rural Hall, NC 27045.
