Christine Gray Bame

Kernersville – Mrs. Christine Gray Bame, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. She was born on April 18, 1933, in Guilford County to Eugene and Ana Gray. Christine was a lifelong member of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church where she was attended the Lady’s Church Group. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Group of High Point. She retired from Western Electric (AT&T) after many years of service. Christine enjoyed crafting and loved to cook, a talent she learned from her mother and grandmother. She was known for bringing delicious meals to any family function. Christine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Bame, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Bame James (husband, Mike); son, Mark Bame; one granddaughter, April Lawler (husband, Kevin); two brothers, Andrew Gray (wife, Phyllis) and Howard Gray (wife, Ann); and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Christine will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Phil Kirkman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sandy Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choosing.
