Christopher Dean Conrad

Christopher Dean Conrad, of Forsyth County, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 67. 

Born on August 6, 1957, to the late Alvin and June Conrad, Christopher lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength.

A gentle and gracious soul, Christopher was known for his mannerly nature and considerate heart. He had strong interest in medical  science, which led him to a career as a Pharmacy Technician—a role he embraced with dedication and joy. Even after that career was tragically cut short, Christopher continued to serve others, as he was able in quite a variety of jobs and  roles.

Christopher’s compassion extended beyond his work. He had a special concern for those who had lost their sight, and he gave of his time volunteering with an organization that supported the blind. He felt it was his personal mission to give back, especially to those facing challenges greater than his own.

He was a man of persevering  faith, always striving to be in alignment with God’s will. A spiritual seeker at heart, Christopher longed to live a life pleasing to the Lord, repeated praying for direction and wisdom.

He loved dogs and science fiction, and found great joy in both. But more than anything, Christopher valued people. He was a loyal friend—grateful, kind, and deeply present. Among those who meant the most to him was his close companion Jean, whose friendship brought light to his days. He also shared a strong bond with Pastor David Kindy, whom he admired deeply.

Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and June Conrad; and two siblings, Al and Susan. Though his biological family was small, his heart and chosen family were expansive. He is survived by his beloved aunt, Peggy Shamel (Herman); as well as a large community of friends who will continue to cherish his memory and honor the gentle legacy he leaves behind.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at New Hope Church, 5121 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
