Christopher Daniel Porada
Dr. Christopher Daniel Porada, 57, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at his home. Dr. Porada was born January 19, 1969, in New Britain, Connecticut, to Daniel Joseph Porada and Barbara Jane Rowland Escobar.
In addition to being an internationally recognized researcher in prenatal therapies and space biology, Christopher was an accomplished musician, a dedicated audiophile, an avid astronomer and astrophotographer, a keen tennis player, and the most caring and loving husband to Graca Almeida-Porada and father to Daniel Porada. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, his son, and his parents: Daniel Porada and Barbara Escobar.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek Chapel with a service following at 2 PM.
The service will be livestreamed on hayworth-miller.com for those unable to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Nature Conservancy.
