WALNUT COVE - Clarence Davis ‘C.D." Hampton, Jr., 61, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. "C.D." was born on November 4, 1956 in Forsyth County to Clarence Davis Hampton, Sr. and Mamie Handy Hampton. He was a driver for Quality Oil for 20 years and a Volunteer Fire Fighter for over 22 years with Walkertown and City View Fire Departments. "C.D." enjoyed going to Bowman Gray every Saturday night with Junior Miller being his favorite driver. He also was a fan of the Carolina Tarheels and Washington Redskins. Surviving are his wife, Teresa Hampton; a son, John Hampton; a sister, Libby Hampton Smith (Mike); a niece, Emily Place (Jacob); a nephew, Lane Smith; great nephews, Hunter and Logan Byers; great nieces, Lilah and Adeline Place; a brother-in-law, Darrian Byers; a special friend, Randy Hayes, who was like a brother to C.D.; and two loving canine companions, Deacon and Charlie. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
