Clarence Olen Huie, Sr.

Mr. Clarence Olen Huie, Sr. 83, of Clemmons died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Rose Tara Plantation in King. He was born March 14, 1932 in Wilkes County, the son of the late, John Milo and Pearlie Hawkins Huie. Mr. Huie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a 32 Degree Master Mason and was former Past Master of West Bend Lodge # 434. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company following 37 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Hemrick Huie; two sons, Dennis Michael Huie and Darel Keaton Huie and a sister, Gladys Hicks. Survivors include one son, Clarence O. Huie, Jr. (Libby) of Lewisville; one daughter, Rebecca Anne Huie of Oakboro; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Huie Schaaf (Scott), Kathleen Huie, Monica Sink Tucker (Mark), Travis Sink (Kelsey), Tyler Huie, Amanda Berisford Arnold (Adam), Leslie Berisford Wargofcak (Josh), and Dea Rae Huie Wurst (Bill); fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, James Huie (Lois) of Pfafftown; one sister, Ruby Matthews of Forbush; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. Josh Hill officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
