Clarence Williams broke the bounds of this earthly realm to go home to be with his heavenly father and savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Clarence was a member of Northside Baptist Church, which he helped found and charter in 1971. The church is still active for God today. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1950 - 1954. He went to work for the Winston-Salem Journal in 1956 until retiring in 1990 after 34 years of service. Clarence was born to a loving father and mother, John Henry Williams and Minerva Shouse Williams who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers: John Jr., Clinton, and Claude and one sister, Mary Frances Melton. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mescal (Pete) Williams; his son, Brian Williams and two brothers, Howard (Teresa) and James (Lynn). A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, March 17 at Northside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 5900 Providence Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
