Clauda Faye (Hale) Ball, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at her home in Kernersville, North Carolina.
She was born on September 26, 1932, to the late Harrison Delmus Hale and Edith Vernon Hale.
Clauda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her faith, her family, and her home. She was a longtime member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for many years.
She was married to her beloved husband, Sterling Gene Ball, 75 years before his passing. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and unwavering commitment to their family.
Clauda was known for her strong will, her sense of humor, and her unmistakable honesty. She had a way of saying exactly what she thought, and those who knew her best wouldn’t have had it any other way. She was also a natural caregiver, always making sure everyone around her was taken care of. Her home was a place where no one left hungry, and she was happiest when she was cooking, cleaning, ironing, and doing for others.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles Edward Ball and wife Mitzi, and Jerry Keith Ball and wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Kimberly Dunckel and husband Arthur, Wesley Ball, Melissa Ball, Daniel Ball, and Laura Lineberry and husband Jade; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Sara, Rhett, Emma, McKinley, Jayden, LaMontaye, Knox, Austin, and Elias.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lela May Lambert and Delmus Ray Hale, and her infant daughter, Melanie Zoe Ball.
Clauda’s legacy is one of love, sacrifice, faith, and family. She spent her life caring for others, and the impact of that love will continue for generations.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends 4:30 – 5:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Cedar Bluff, VA Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
