Clay Thomas Doss, 63, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Doss was born May 31, 1963, in Forsyth County, to James “Jim” Thomas Doss and Wanda Henley Doss. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church for many years then later attended Woodland Baptist Church. He was a friend to everyone and loved his family dearly. In addition to his father, Clay was preceded in death by his brother, Van Brooke Doss; his sister, Marsha Louise Doss; his niece, Corra Jean Tesh; paternal grandparents, Randolph and Elma Doss; maternal grandparents, Ova and Louise Walton Henley; his brother in-law, Daniel Alan Tesh; and his precious dog, Tebow.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Wanda Henley Doss; his sister, Shannon Doss Tesh; his nephew, James Alan Tesh (Charlote); his niece Marela Paramo Tesh; three great-nephews, Eli Alan Tesh, Canaan James Tesh, and Kai Roman Butterfield; and one great-niece, Alexa Selene Tesh. Also surviving are many aunts, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Eric Tang and Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Reformers Unanimous at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Guthrie Rd. Winston Salem, NC 27101.
