Clay Oliver, Jr.

Mr. Clay Oliver, Jr., 76, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1937 in Valdosta, GA to Clayton H. Oliver, Sr. and Minnie Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was President of Olivers Paving serving the community for over 36 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was preceded in death by his daughter, Jettie Myers and numerous siblings. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Smith Oliver; a daughter, Florence Sink (Eric); a son, Clay H. Oliver, III (Karla); five grandchildren, Eric Sink (Rebecca), Jonathan Sink (Erica), Hannah Sink, Mearl Turner and Clay Oliver, IV; three great grandchildren, Erica, Liam and Baby Jon Jon; a son-in-law, Greg Myers and three brothers, Eugene Oliver, Douglas Oliver and Jerry Oliver. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Pastor Mike Duffield officiating.
