Mrs. Clemmie Marie Gambill Icenhower, 81, of Winston-Salem, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center Sunday, January 20, 2019. She was born in Forsyth County October 7, 1937 to the late George Dewey and Walsie Mae Waddell Gambill.
Mrs. Icenhower was a charter member of Griffith Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Griffith High School. In 1955 she married Jud Manuel Icenhower. Mrs. Icenhower operated a daycare out of her home for many years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Jud Manuel Icenhower, a daughter, Janice Fay Phlegar, three brothers, and three sisters. Surviving are three sons: Steven Icenhower and wife Susan of Lexington, Mark Icenhower and wife Sheree, and Joel Icenhower and wife Marty of Kernersville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clay Gambill.

A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Griffith Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Bobby Vaughn. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Griffith Baptist Church, 1987 Old Salisbury Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
