Colon Lee Bodenheimer, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Davidson County on December 3, 1938, to the late Charlie Bodenheimer and Ollie Reid Bodenheimer. Colon was a hard and meticulous worker who was proud of his 35.7 years at RJ Reynolds Tobacco as a machinist. He was also an honorable veteran and served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Colon enjoyed spending time at the lake as well as fishing and fellowship with family and friends. He loved his family dearly, including his beloved dog, Koko. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Colon is preceded in death by his brother, Gradie Bodenheimer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Pope Bodenheimer; daughter, Lisa Trivette; granddaughters, Michaela Trivette and Ellie Trivette; brother, Hollen Bodenheimer and sister, Treva Weavil; God-son, Troy Baker; as well as other special friends and family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the caregivers at Salemtowne who graciously helped the Bodenheimer family during these times.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Glenn View Baptist Church with Pastor Coley Rimmer and Pastor Dominic Immordino officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenn View Baptist Church at 4275 Glenn Hi Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
