Colvin Thomas Morgan

Colvin Thomas Morgan, better known as Tom or Tommy, age 81 of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away August 7th, 2025, at High Point Medical Center. He was born on January 2nd, 1944, at Randolph Hospital, the son of Leslie H. and Lois Davidson Morgan. Mr. Morgan grew up in Asheboro at 905 Shannon Road and was a graduate of Asheboro High School. He attended Wingate Junior College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Professional Writing from Western Carolina University in 1967. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1972. He also served in the Lions Club. His first career choice after the Army was teaching at Tabernacle Elementary School before pursuing various business ventures throughout his lifetime and working in the furniture industry for a period of time. In his later years he enjoyed visiting family and friends and also spending time with his veteran friends at DAV Chapter 38, Randolph County. Tom was a member of West Bend Church in Asheboro. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Ralph Morgan, his sisters Louise Coltrane and husband Thurman, Jane Layne and husband Leo, Alice Holloway and husband William and Peggy Foust. 

Tom is survived by his brother-in-law Paul Foust, former wife Vivian C. Morgan, his sons Josh Morgan and wife Erica, Scott Morgan and wife Theresa, daughter Jane Creech Wishon and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2025, at West Bend Church in Asheboro with Pastor Richard Routh and Pastor Lee Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery at 737 Albemarle Rd. Asheboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any organization that helps the blind or to DAV Chapter 38, P.O Box 2473 Asheboro, NC 27204. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
