Connie "Horsefly" Gray Cornatzer

          Mr. Connie “Horsefly” Gray Cornatzer, 82, of Advance, NC passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1943 in Davie County to Walter Thurman Cornatzer and Jennie Myers Cornatzer. Horsefly worked for many years as a switch driver for Lexington Home Brands. He never met a stranger and loved animals. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Betty Shore, Helen Snipes, Ruby Potts and Jane Sanders; three brothers, Seabon Cornatzer, Thurmond Cornatzer and Joe Cornatzer. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Arlene Beck Cornatzer; three children, Crystal Myers (Robert), Richard Cornatzer and Teresa Lentz (Brannon); three grandchildren, Brittany Ross (Jeff), Tyler Myers (Jocelyn) and Hunter Cornatzer; two sisters, Mildred Carter and Jean Livengood and many nieces and nephews. 

          A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Advance United Methodist Church with his grandson, Tyler Myers and Austin Caviness officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
