Mrs. Connie Jean Goodwin Lindsay, 68, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after an extended illness due to a stroke.
Connie was born on January 27, 1958, to the late Coretta Gamble. She was adopted and raised by the late Opal Louise Goodwin in Hattiesburg, MS. She was the third born of eight children.
In addition to her mother, Connie was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Edward Lee Henderson, Jr.; and her brothers, Charles Carter, James Johnson, David Hart and William Hart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Andrew Jacob Lindsay; her former spouse, Carlton Dean Lindsay, her sisters, Janice Sims and Patricia Thomas; her brother, Gregory Hart; as well as a large host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Craig Scott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 9:00AM on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Salisbury National Cemetery.
