Connie Mae Smith

Connie Mae Smith, 79, of Winston-Salem died February 24, 2013 at her home. She was born December 6, 1933, in Forsyth County to Samuel Hope and Annie Grace Albright Smith. A graduate of Griffith High School, she was employed by McLean Trucking Company almost 35 years. She was the secretary at Friedberg Moravian Church until 2010. Connie was a member of Ardmore Moravian Church where through the years she has been active in many areas of the church's life. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Archel N. Smith, and sister in law Hazel Smith. Surviving are two nephews, Richard N. Smith (Donna) and Randy L. Smith (Terri); a great-niece Tracey Dobson (Stacey); a great-nephew Neal Smith (Pam); and a great-great-nephew Tyler Allen. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Ardmore Moravian Church with Reverend Jon Boling officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre in Old Salem. There will be a reception from 1- 1:45 PM Thursday before the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sunnyside Ministry of the Moravian Church or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
