Coretta Blanchette

Mrs. Coretta Henson Blanchette, 86, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1931 in Raburn, GA. Mrs. Blanchette was a faithful member of Parkway Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, choir member and elder. She retired from South Fork Elementary School after 22 years as teacher. Mrs. Blanchette was an avid reader and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgie Moffitt Henson and Jester James Henson and her husband, William Calvin Blanchette. Surviving are a daughter, Martha Alene Bovender; a son, Leighton Andrew Blanchette; two sisters, Mary Ada Leigh and Georgie Anne Hartman and two brothers, James M. Henson and Samuel M. Henson. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Thom Burleson officiating. A Witness to the Resurrection Service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at Parkway Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in the narthex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Presbyterian Church, 1000 Yorkshire Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel)
