Corey Van Linville

Corey Van Linville, 47, passed away peacefully on April 19th, at Kernersville Medical Center. Corey was born in Forsyth County on June 20th, 1977, along with twin brother Chad to Richard Van Linville and the late Loretta Carter Linville. Corey grew up on the family farm where him and Chad were always side by side, from playing in the yard as small kids to working together as they grew into adults. Corey loved the farm life and at 13 years old began driving tractors, as time passed he became accomplished at operating all equipment on the farm. The big tractors and John Deere combine were his favorites. Corey worked all his life on the family farm. Corey as a young boy also loved BMX racing and riding dirt bikes, he could ride the longest wheelie around. Corey also loved to search the fields for arrowheads and could grow one of the best gardens in town. Corey befriended many and if you were stranded on the side of the road he would stop to help you out. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need, especially with their garden. He had a love for helping others and never expected anything in return. At age 24 Corey was blessed with his son, Luke Van Linville. Corey is survived by his son, Luke Linville, father, Richard Linville, brother Chad Linville, sister-in-law Jessica Linville and two nephews, Levi and Carter Linville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Linville.

The roar of the tractor and cloud of dust over the horizon of the field at sunset is gone. In its place is a sad, quiet, lonely feeling. Corey and his spirit will leave a vast void for his loving family and friends. What becomes of the brokenhearted when a loved one has departed, we can only hope somehow our broken hearts can be mended.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
