Cornelia "Tina" Brinkley

MT AIRY – Cornelia “Tina” Pedigo Brinkley, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, September 22, 2025 at Central Continuing Care. Tina was born on May 7, 1930 in Patrick County, VA to Joseph and Bessie Noah Pedigo. She retired from Sara Lee after many years of service. Tina was married to her true companion, Jason Brinkley, for 57 years, before his passing in 2018. They shared a love for traveling, especially to the beach and mountains. Her spontaneity, fun loving, and “can-do” personality made her a great person to have for spur of the moment trips and activities. Tina was a devoted wife, sister and friend. Being the oldest girl of nine siblings, she developed a sense of protectiveness for their well being and kept strong family ties throughout her life. Tina was selflessly committed to those she loved. Her family knew that Tina was a phone call away anytime they needed help. Her care for others was intentional, patient and forgiving. Tina will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Brinkley; four sisters, Ellen Smith, Margaret Fleming, Elsie Pedigo and Carol Pedigo; three brothers, Mack Pedigo, Butch Pedigo and Auburn Pedigo.

Surviving are her sister, Virginia “Jenny” Cockerham and husband, Albert, of Mt. Airy; along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 24, at Hayworth Miller Rural Hall Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Pedigo Cemetery, in Ararat, VA.
