Mr. Curtis Wayne Smith, 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home. He was born in Forsyth County on May 9, 1959, the son of the late Roy Hunter Smith and Myrtle Wilson Smith. Wayne was a member of Delta Methodist Church. He was known as a “wheeler and dealer”. If there was a deal to be made, he was the man to make it. His passion was working in mechanics; working on any engine you put in front of him. His hobby was fishing, but he loved fishing at the beach the best. He loved spending time with his family and considered it the most valuable time of his life. Wayne made a loving statement to his family: I will meet you on the other side of the river, love, dad, and Paw Paw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene Mabe, Nancy Grubbs, and Dixie Hill; and a brother, Bobby Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Crystal S. Williams (Shannan), and Cynthia S. Duggins (Edward); five grandchildren, Micah Halfhill, Summer Halfhill, Dylan Duggins, Dalton Duggins and Dakota Williams; six great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Mia, Micah, Jr., Harper, Dawson, Luella, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, April 1, 2024, at Delta Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge with Rev. Dr. Evelyn Lemon and Pastor Jerry Lankford officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral in Rural Hall.
