Cynthia Lynn Hobby

Mrs. Cynthia Lynn ""Cyndi"" Hobby died on December 24, 2015 due to heart failure at Forsyth Memorial Medical Center. Cyndi was born on April 29, 1970 in Great Falls, MT to Nicki and Walt Mann. She graduated from Langford High School, South Dakota in 1988. In high school she enjoyed cross country running and even helped win a regional championship. She was also a cheerleading coach for several years. From the time she was a little girl, she was always helping those in need whether they had two legs or four. Many people benefited from her selflessness and volunteer work and often times lovingly referred to her as ""Mom"". If one were to judge the character of a person by the hole they leave behind when they are gone, Mount Everest itself would not fill the void her passing has left in the hearts of her loved ones. She married Ken Standley in 1990 and they settled in North Carolina where Ken was stationed as a United States Marine. Cyndi and Ken divorced and she married Jack Hobby. She and Jack joined their families of three becoming a loving family of six. She was preceded in death by her son Matthew Hobby and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Jack Hobby; four daughters, Alyssa Standley of Winston-Salem, Jordan Standley of Winston-Salem, Jaclyn Hobby of Pfafftown, and Emily Hobby of Clemmons; and two grandsons, Ethan James, and Gunnar Bergeron. Also surviving are her parents, Walt and Nicki Mann; one brother, Shawn Mann (wife Angela) of South Dakota; nieces, Bailee Mann and Alicia Standley; and nephews, Jerrod Mann and Tyler Mann. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Center Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Clarence Huie, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
