D. Newcomb, Jr.

Mr. David Curtis Newcomb, Jr. 84, of Winston-Salem, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018. He was born October 13, 1933 in Halifax County, VA to Rose N. Newcomb and David C. Newcomb, Sr. In Curtis' younger years, he served nine years in the National Guard. He worked for Colonial Stores/ Big Star for 35 years and later with Kroger for 12 years. His family and his church were a joy to him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 60 years, Anne Gardner Newcomb; one daughter, Melanie Seaman and one son, Kent Newcomb (Mary); his beloved four grandchildren and two adored great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Heritage Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Pittman and Rev. Jennings O'Neil officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held later on Monday. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel)
