Daisy Bridges Duckett

Mrs. Daisy Bridges Duckett, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Durham, NC on February 19, 1923 to the late L.Y. and Lela Rice Bridges. Preceding her in death was her husband, Malcolm Duckett; brother, Lawrence Bridges and a sister, Dorothy Bradshaw. Surviving is a daughter, Janis Duckett Winfrey and husband, James ""Jim"" of Pfafftown, NC; son, Rick Duckett and wife, Suzanne of Annandale, VA; two grandchildren, Penny Shermer and husband, Mark of Pfafftown, NC and Jay Winfrey of East Bend, NC; also surviving is a great-grandson, Jacob Shermer of Pfafftown, NC. ""We little knew that morning that GOD was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone; for a part of us went with you, the day GOD called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our Family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as GOD calls us one by one, the chain will link again."" A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. A private graveside service will be held in Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
