Daisy Marie Ward Huffman

Daisy Ward Huffman was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a typical southern lady who believed that family and friends came first. 

Born on December 2^nd in 1931, she was so small that she was put in a shoe box by the wood stove to stay warm. This fact that she did not share widely until her first grandson was born prematurely. She married the love of her life Wade Dallas Huffman, and they established their home in Davidson County, NC close to both of their families.

 Daisy died peacefully at the age of 92 in assisted living in Hillsborough, NC where she had lived for over 8 years. Until the first of this year, she attended weekly family dinners with her loving family who survived her: daughter, Debra Brandon, and Daisy’s two grandsons and their families, Richard Brandon and Ashley (Jasper-9 years, June and Ellie-7 years) and Michael Brandon and Tammy (Franny-5 years, Felix-17 months). Even if she was in pain, which was often due to her bone disease, she always had a smile on her face when she got to see her 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Polly Craver. Despite being away from the home of her adulthood, she maintained contact with her extended family, and friends.

 A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at  Arcadia Church of Christ, 3448 Enterprise Rd, Lexington, NC 27295, with Pastor Bobby Leonard and Pastor Tony Morrison officiating. The family will receive family and friends in a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall.
