Dallas Thomas Spencer, Sr.

Mr. Dallas Thomas Spencer, Sr., of King, NC passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the age of 68. He was born to the late Preston Wyatt Spencer and Mary Hartman on January 20, 1949 in Advance, NC. Dallas proudly served his country in the United States Army, First Aviation Brigade during the Vietnam War. In 1973, he married the love of his life, Carol Griffin. In his civilian days, he took a passion as mechanic for several local dealerships. Dallas was well revered for his expertise with transmissions. He retired from Flow Automotive in 2005. Dallas' love for automobiles, led him to be a dedicated NASCAR supporter. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, such as deer hunting from his screened-in porch. If you were fortunate enough to know Dallas, you knew he had the gift of gab and was always looking for the opportunity to play a practical joke. He could always be counted on to keep you entertained by his sense of humor and passionate dialogs about current events. Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol Griffin; two children, Dee Spencer and Cassie Edwards (Matt); five grandchildren: Campbell Edwards, Emma Spencer, Addison Spencer, Payton Spencer, and Kennadee Spencer; three brothers; one sister; and one half-brother. There will be no formal services.
